Campaign to save Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani

UPDATED 09/07/10 @16.20pm

A huge thank you goes out to all of you who voted in the Sun Petition against the stoning of an Iranian woman convicted of adultery.

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani will be spared death by stoning, but we are sad to report that her life may still be in jeopardy.

Officials have not said if she will still be executed in another way, according to the BBC.

The 43-year old mother-of-two was charged in 2006 with having "illicit relationships" with two men after her husband died. She was later charged with adultery while married, and condemned to death by stoning.  She denies all charges.

We will continue to fight for justice for Sakineh and her cause.
